Fire Detection

Description

Fire identification in homes is important to prevent property loss due to both natural and triggered fire events. Fire identification will prove to be very critical since the difference between life and death may mean it.

Remote monitoring and diagnostic capabilities of an IoT system help firefighters know where to position personnel and trucks in advance. An IoT system tells fire personnel the locations of a smoke detector going off, a heat detector sending signals or a water flow switch being activated.

By implementing a fire detection solution comprised of sensors and gateways embedded with LoRa Technology and an intelligent low power wide area network based on the LoRaWAN™ protocol,
firefighters can detect heat, smoke, gas, or flames associated with fires earlier and implement firefighting tactics or personnel more quickly to either prevent or reduce the impact of the fire.

Benefits

  1. Sensors detect the presence of smoke or flames
  2. Sensors detect thermal changes to identify high temperatures associated with fires
  3. Sensors can send property status to property manager or emergency personnel to enable faster response time
  4. Easy to set up and low power operation ensures sensor batteries can last up to 20 years
  5. Sensors placed throughout a commercial building can detect signs of a fire including heat, smoke, gas, or flames, enabling quicker response for the safety of the tenants and reducing damage to the property.
